While speaking with Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar spoke about his early admiration for Sridevi. The actor had already worked with the legendary actress by then. The host asked, “You did a film with her that was never released, na?” Akshay Kumar clarified that the movie had actually been released. However, the film reached theatres in an incomplete form. The actor then explained why its ending was so unusual.

‘Meri Biwi Ka Jawaab Nahin’ had no climax

According to Akshay Kumar, the makers had not filmed the revenge sequence that was supposed to conclude the story. The film therefore ended without showing what happened next to its central characters. “It did release, but do you know how it released? It is the only film which released without a climax. In ‘Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin’, we hold hands, and she says ‘Ab hum badla lenge’, and we never shot the badla. So, at the end we see on the seen ‘Aur phir un dono ne badla lia (Then they took revenge),” he went on to explain. Instead of filming the planned sequence, the ending simply informed viewers that the couple had eventually taken revenge. This made the film’s theatrical release particularly unusual.

‘Meri Biwi Ka Jawaab Nahin’ was directed by Pankaj Parashar and backed by S. M. Iqbal. Akshay Kumar and Sridevi led the cast as the husband-and-wife pair. The film also featured several established performers. Gulshan Grover, Anupam Kher, Johnny Lever and Laxmikant Berde were among the cast members.
