Diane Keaton had a very particular way of looking at houses. She didn’t just buy them; she liked changing, restoring, and giving them a very specific sense of style. Her Laguna Beach home appears to have been one of her final projects.Keaton bought the 2,700-square-foot beachfront property for $6.6 million in 2021. After renovating the two-story house, she sold it for $7.9 million just a year later. Now, the same Laguna Beach property is back on the market for $10.3 million. Mansion Global reported the earlier sale prices using property records, while Architectural Digest recently described it as Keaton’s final real-estate project.

The house was built in 1976 and sits above Table Rock Beach on a relatively narrow oceanfront lot. Keaton bought the four-bedroom, three-bathroom property through a trust in 2021. She then transformed it in the style she had become known for: lots of black and white, clean lines and a slightly old-school California feel.It was not a huge house by celebrity standards, measuring around 2,700 square feet. But its position right above the Pacific Ocean made it pretty special.A staircase at the back of the home leads down toward the beach, while two decks look out over the water.

Inside Diane Keaton’s black-and-white beach house

The most obvious Keaton touch is the colour palette. The exterior has white shaker siding with black-shingle sections, while inside, the same black-and-white look continues with exposed black brick, white wood-panelled cathedral ceilings and wide-plank oak floors. The living room has a brick fireplace and glass doors opening onto an oceanfront deck. The kitchen keeps things lighter, with grey and white finishes, a marble island and a dining area.Upstairs, the primary bedroom opens onto another deck with Pacific Ocean views. It also has its own fireplace and a bathroom with a double vanity, standalone bathtub and walk-in shower. Architectural Digest’s September 2026 look at the property highlighted many of these details.

Keaton’s personal touches are still inside the home

Interestingly, the house still carries quite a bit of Diane Keaton’s personality. Listing agent Brooke Wainwright told Mansion Global that this was Keaton’s “last home renovation” and that her lighting choices and other personal touches remain in the house. That is probably one of the reasons the property feels different from a standard luxury beach listing. The lower level has another living space and a bar, while the outdoor area includes a grill and bar reached through a sliding door. There is also direct access to the beach, which is hard to ignore when you’re talking about a Laguna Beach home.

Diane Keaton sold the Laguna Beach property in 2022

Keaton didn’t keep the beach house for very long. After completing the renovation, she sold the property in 2022 for $7.9 million. Property records cited by Mansion Global confirm the $6.6 million purchase in 2021 and the $7.9 million sale the following year. Now, several years later, the Laguna Beach home is being offered for $10.3 million. The current owners, reportedly an Arizona couple who run an aeroplane-parts company, have kept much of Keaton’s original decorating scheme.

Diane Keaton’s final renovation project is back on the market

Keaton had a long-running interest in architecture and home renovation, so the Laguna Beach property fits neatly into a much bigger part of her story. She previously bought, renovated and sold a number of homes, often favouring California properties with a strong architectural identity. Architectural Digest has extensively documented that side of her life over the years. Now, the Laguna Beach house is being marketed as a piece of that legacy. From a $6.6 million purchase in 2021 to a $7.9 million sale a year later and a $10.3 million asking price today, Diane Keaton’s beach house has certainly had an interesting real estate journey. But perhaps the most noticeable thing is that even after changing owners, the house still looks very much like something Keaton would have designed herself.
