Turbo-petrol engines are increasingly being offered in affordable SUVs in India, with several compact and sub-compact models under Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) now featuring this option, delivering improved performance over naturally aspirated units. These engines provide stronger low-end torque for easier city driving and better acceleration for highway overtakes. The engine is offered with a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT, while a DCT automatic is also available but priced above Rs 10 lakh.
