Ayushmann Khurrana’s genre-defying project

‘Mupapa’ is being billed as a genre-defying theatrical experience that promises to deliver a striking visual spectacle for audiences. Ayushmann leads the project; he is known for breaking content norms, and the film is expected to grip viewers from the very first scene.

This tie-up reflects Aditya Chopra‘s larger goal of shaping a new creative business model, with company CEO Akshaye Widhani driving the effort. It also marks Akshaye’s second producing credit, following the romance ‘Saiyaara’, directed by Mohit Suri.

Ayushmann Khurrana’s last outing, ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’

Ayushmann was most recently seen in ‘’Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’, alongside Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh. The story, set mostly in Prayagraj, centres on Prajapati Pandey, played by Ayushmann, a forest officer who leads a settled life with his wife Aparna, an investigative journalist portrayed by Wamiqa Gabbi, the two sharing what appears to be a solid, happy marriage.

Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ box office

Made on an estimated budget of Rs 57-60 crore, the film reportedly pulled in around Rs 40.28 crore worldwide in its opening week. However, reports suggest it hasn’t been able to replicate the commercial success of the 2019 original, which, mixed storyline reviews notwithstanding, did better business at the box office.
