Tamil cinema bids farewell to Bharathiraja
The demise of veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja marks a significant loss for the Tamil film industry. He passed away on June 10 following health-related complications. Bharathiraja was celebrated for his realistic portrayal of rural life and for nurturing several young talents through his films. Film personalities, politicians, and fans have been visiting his residence in Chennai to pay their final respects. Several prominent figures, including Vijay, Rajinikanth, Ilaiyaraaja, Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Sivakumar and Radhika Sarathkumar, have paid tribute to the filmmaker fondly known as “Iyakkunar Imayam.“

The Madras High Court has directed the Chennai Family Welfare Court to dispose of the interim maintenance petition filed by Aarti Ravi within two weeks. Aarti approached the High Court citing delays in the hearing of her plea seeking financial assistance. Meanwhile, the court rejected Ravi Mohan’s request for additional time to conclude the proceedings. As a result, the Family Welfare Court has been instructed to deliver its order within the stipulated timeframe.
