Kia Syros EV launched: Up to 80% buyback, BaaS option and 526 km range

Kia India has launched the Syros EV with prices starting at Rs 13.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The Syros EV will go on sale across Kia dealerships in India from July 30.The Syros EV is available with two battery pack options. The entry-level 42 kWh version is priced from Rs 13.49 lakh, while the larger 51.4 kWh Extended Range variant starts at Rs 16.99 lakh, both ex-showroom. The line-up is spread across seven variants, with the top-spec X-Line ER priced at Rs 19.99 lakh.It can be had with either a 42 kWh battery offering an ARAI-certified range of 443 km and a larger 51.4 kWh battery that delivers a claimed range of 526 km. Power comes from a front-mounted electric motor producing 171 PS, while the larger battery variant can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 8.1 seconds. Kia also claims a DC fast-charging time of 39 minutes for a 10-80 per cent charge using a 100 kW charger. The SUV also features a 10.8 kW onboard AC charger, battery conditioning and EV-specific functions such as regenerative braking with i-Pedal mode, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and a Battery Heating System. A major highlight of the Syros EV is its ownership package. Kia is offering a Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty covering 15 years with unlimited kilometres, along with an assured buyback programme promising up to 80 per cent resale value after three years under introductory terms. The company has also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme, allowing customers to purchase the vehicle from Rs 7.99 lakh with battery payments starting at Rs 3.3 per kilometre. Additionally, the My Convenience e-Plus package combines maintenance, extended warranty and roadside assistance.Inside, the Syros EV gets a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 5-inch climate control display. Other highlights include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Kia Connect 2.0 with over 95 connected features, OTA updates, a Harman Kardon eight-speaker audio system, ventilated front and rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 4-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, a smart dashcam and a 16-litre front trunk. On the safety front, it comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS featuring 16 autonomous functions, along with six airbags, ESC, hill-start assist, a 360-degree camera, blind view monitor and a total of 25 standard safety features.
