According to a report by Free Press Journal, ‘Ohh My Dog’ will begin streaming on Netflix on October 1, 2026. The film’s digital release comes less than two months after its theatrical debut on August 7. The film tells its story across two timelines, with both narratives revolving around disappearances and the bond between humans and dogs.The first storyline follows Appu and her indie dog Momo. When Momo runs out while chasing a ball and fails to return, Appu and her mother begin searching for him. Their investigation eventually leads them towards an illegal dog-trafficking racket.The second narrative follows Prince, a young labourer in Bihar who goes missing. His loyal dog Oscar then embarks on an unexpected journey to find his owner. At its core, Ohh My Dog explores themes of love, loyalty, companionship and the relationship between people and their canine companions.
‘Ohh My Dog’ plot: Two timelines, two missing cases
The film brings together two seemingly separate stories involving missing dogs and people. In Appu’s story, the disappearance of her beloved Momo turns into a larger investigation when she and her mother discover links to an illegal dog-trafficking operation. Meanwhile, Prince’s disappearance sets Oscar on a journey of his own. The dog’s search for his missing owner forms the emotional centre of the second storyline.Director Amit Rai has described the film as a story about the bond between a child and a dog, with an emphasis on trust, loyalty and compassion. The film was originally scheduled to release on July 31 but was postponed to August 7. Rai explained that the makers took the decision because of competition for screens from other major releases.
