PM Modi on Saturday led the country’s 80th Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort.

India has become the world’s fastest growing major economy in the world in the last twelve years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during his Independence Day speech on Saturday.He also said that India has achieved this milestone despite being ranked among ‘Fragile Five’ a few years ago. “People’s efforts have resulted in taking India from fragile five to major economy in the last 12 years,” he said.Talking about the dream to become a developed country by 2047, PM Modi said, “The world will be forced to look at India differently when the most populous country becomes a developed nation.”“India is dreaming big to touch new heights, we will make sure the country becomes developed by 2047,” he added.Also Check | PM Modi’s Independence Day Speech Live UpdatesPM Modi on Saturday led the country’s 80th Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort amid patriotic fervour and extensive multi-layered security arrangements.For the first time in the history of India’s Independence Day celebrations, ‘Vande Mataram’ was performed at the Red Fort during the 79th anniversary of Independence on August 15, followed by the rendition of the national anthem.The ceremony also marked 150 years of the enduring legacy of ‘Vande Mataram’.
