Ram Charan has lauded Ranveer Singh‘s Dhurandhar franchise, describing it as a “terrific, fantastic, phenomenal” cinematic experience and attributing its massive success to the way audiences across India have embraced it.The actor spoke about the blockbuster franchise during his appearance at the Republic Summit, where he revealed that he had recently watched Dhurandhar on an OTT platform.

‘It has brought the country together’

Sharing his thoughts on the film, Ram Charan said, “It is a terrific, fantastic, phenomenal film. It had everything falling in place in the right way, in the right tempo.”He went on to highlight the importance of films that promote national unity.“Should more films like this come out? Of course. National integrity, like India first, is very important in our forthcoming films. It has brought the country together,” he added.

Box office numbers reflect audience acceptance

Ram Charan also weighed in on the franchise’s phenomenal box office run, saying the collections reflect the audience’s love for the film.“It has become the highest-grosser; it earned more than Rs 1800 crore. Why would this be? The box office number is nothing but the number of people who have accepted it, and the footfall in theatres is what matters,” he said.According to the actor, audience support is the biggest measure of a film’s success.“If people of India are owning it and want this to happen, why not? It’s doing good for our nation,” he added.

Dhurandhar’s record-breaking run

Directed by Aditya Dhar and headlined by Ranveer Singh, Dhurandhar released in December 2025 and grossed over Rs 1,300 crore worldwide. The sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, hit theatres in March this year and went on to earn more than Rs 1,800 crore globally. The film emerged as the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of all time after Dangal. Both films are currently available to stream on Netflix and JioHotstar.
