Two-wheeler sales April '26: Big gains for Hero, Honda; RE clocks 31% jump

India’s two-wheeler market has kicked off FY2026 on a strong note, with leading manufacturers reporting healthy growth in April. Demand remained robust across motorcycles and scooters, especially in the domestic market, while exports also showed positive momentum for most brands. Here’s how the brands performed.

Two-wheeler sales April 2026:

Hero MotoCorp emerged as the top-selling brand in April 2026, dispatching a total of 5,66,086 units. This marks a significant jump from 3,05,406 units sold in April last year. Domestic sales stood at 5,32,433 units, while exports contributed 33,653 units. The growth was driven by strong demand for both motorcycles, which accounted for 5,01,791 units, and scooters at 64,295 units.Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India recorded total sales of 5.63 lakh units in April 2026, up 17 percent year-on-year. Domestic volumes came in at 4.84 lakh units, compared to 4.22 lakh units last year, while exports rose sharply to 0.796 lakh units, reflecting a 37.4 percent growth.

In the mid-cap segment, Royal Enfield posted total sales of 1,13,164 units, registering a 31 percent increase over April 2025. Domestic sales stood at 1,04,129 units, while exports declined to 9,035 units, resulting in an overall mixed performance across markets.Suzuki Motorcycle India reported comparatively modest growth, with total sales of 1,17,514 units in April 2026, up 4 percent year-on-year. Domestic sales rose slightly to 98,004 units, while exports increased to 19,510 units, marking a 10 percent improvement.*This is a developing story; more details will be added as they become available.
