After calling Gen Z 'Gutter Generation', Kangana Ranaut now says she's 'Gen Alpha'

Kangana Ranaut has been in the news lately for her controversial remarks on the Gen Z protests surrounding the alleged NEET-UG paper leak. Across a string of social media posts, she called certain Gen Z protesters the “gutter generation.” Adding a new twist to the row, she has now posted again, this time declaring that she identifies as Gen Alpha.

On Saturday, Kangana shared a reel on her Instagram story, featuring a little girl imitating a Gen Z “influencer” while promoting the idea of eating lettuce, with the caption reading, “Gen Alpha roasting Gen Z is pure gold.” Reposting the video, Kangana added, “It is official I identify as Gen Alpha. Gen Alpha is like come to the point, no nonsense detected.” She also put up another video showing a young child dressed as a soldier, captioning it, “Gen Alpha is bleeding tricolour.

Kangana Ranaut’s earlier ‘gutter generation’ remarks

Earlier, Kangana had put out a series of videos slamming CJP protesters over the language used against political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She had said, “Never in my life have I seen so much ugliness in one place; these reels from Gen Z protests are puke-inducing. The way they speak and the kind of language they are using, never in my life have I seen everything in each and every frame so jarring and so crass all at once, ewwww who is birthing and raising them? Here is a new generation of so-called westernised Indian women. I call them generation gutter.” A few days on, however, she seemed to walk back her comments, calling Gen Z “the strength and assets of our country.

Kangana Ranaut’s last film release

Kangana’s last screen appearance was in ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata’, directed by Manoj Tapadia. The film is based on the true account of the nurses and hospital staff at Cama Hospital who worked to save lives during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. Despite earning praise from critics, it couldn’t translate that into strong box office numbers.

Kangana Ranaut set for Hollywood debut

Adding to her career milestones, Kangana is preparing to step into Hollywood as well. As per Variety, she will make her debut there with the horror drama ‘Blessed Be the Evil’, a Lions Movies production co-starring Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone. The film is directed by Anurag Rudra, who also co-wrote its screenplay with Gatha Tiwary.
