Salman Khan has issued a tongue-in-cheek warning to his friend’s newly opened Bandra cafe, asking the eatery to maintain its prices, quality and hygiene. The actor took to his Instagram Story to reshare a video from The Tuck Shop at Savio’s and added a playful message that appeared to reference Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, who has been leading an intensified food-safety crackdown across the state.

Resharing a video posted by the cafe’s owner, Salman Khan wrote, “Refill my coffee ya please. Price mat badhana, quality maintain karna. Hygiene maintained, or I will send HIM and it’s done, sis.” (Please refill my coffee. Don’t increase the price, maintain the quality, and make sure the hygiene is maintained or I’ll send HIM, and it’s done, sis.)Although Salman did not mention anyone by name, his reference to “HIM” appeared to be a cheeky nod to Tukaram Mundhe. The actor also gave his own spin to his popular “It’s done, bro” catchphrase, signing off with “It’s done sis”.
Salman’s message comes amid increased scrutiny of food establishments in Maharashtra, with the FDA stepping up inspections and enforcement action over food safety, hygiene and licensing violations.
Why Tukaram Mundhe is being referenced
Tukaram Mundhe assumed charge as Maharashtra FDA Commissioner on May 26, 2026. Since then, his department has reportedly intensified inspections across restaurants, hotels, clubs, fast-food outlets and institutional kitchens.According to reports, the FDA conducted more than 3,000 inspections within Mundhe’s first two months as commissioner and suspended the licences of nearly 165 food establishments. The enforcement drive has reportedly focused on concerns including poor hygiene, food adulteration, fake paneer, adulterated milk and operating without the necessary licences.Mundhe’s strict approach has also earned him the nickname “real-life Singham” on social media.Addressing students on Independence Day, Mundhe underlined the importance of food safety and public health.“I think for a healthy nation, healthy people are important. For healthy people, healthy food and medicine are important. And for that, regulators need to work towards that goal,” he said.Given his reputation for strict enforcement, Salman’s warning about sending “HIM” if hygiene standards are not maintained appears to be a humorous reference to the FDA chief.

On the work front, Salman Khan is preparing to return as the host of ‘Bigg Boss 20’, which is scheduled to premiere on September 6, 2026.
